DISCOVER CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK Catholic school alumni are living examples of our Catholic school product. We pray for our alumni, that they use their Catholic education to do the work of God and stay true to the faith they have been taught. We are SDJCA.

Today, our teachers took part in a Religious Staff Development day, beginning with a faculty Mass with Fr. Dan and Fr. Tom. Breakfast goodies and a wonderful presentation on PRAYER followed. We are so blessed to have their faithful and pastoral leadership at SDJCA. 🙏🏻

The ELC gathered for their second annual Friendsgiving Wednesday and Thursday. Each child had an opportunity to contribute to our meal of chicken soup, cornbread and cookies. Throughout the month of November, we discussed and learned about Thanksgiving and it’s many facets. Our Friendsgiving focused on gratitude and blessings as a wonderful way to come together, reflect on the goodness in life, and share in the warmth of both food and fellowship. It was special to come together to make a meal—whether it’s the comforting warmth of chicken soup, the sweetness of cookies, or the hearty, flavorful touch of cornbread—it was a reminder of how food nourishes both the body and the spirit. Sitting together and feeling the warmth of our community was a moment of connection, the love, laughter, and shared experiences enriched our gathering. Sharing this simple yet profound moment was truly a blessing.

SDJCA collected 684 food items for the FISH Food pantry. Ms. Thompson’s 6th graders brought in the highest number of items per student with 9.2 items. They win the ice cream sundae bar to be awarded at their lunch period sometime in December!

Discover Catholic Schools Week: Today we highlight our school parents, who are called to be partners in their children’s education. We love hearing about why our parents chose Catholic school for their children and what it means to them and their family. Parents are children’s first teachers and our partners in mission. Discover Catholic Schools Week Starts Today! Discover Catholic Schools Week is November 17-23, a time to discover the power of Catholic education and the positive impact Catholic schools have on the lives of students, families, and the communities in which we live and serve. This week we will be highlighting what makes SDJCA special. We start with our parishes, who provide religious guidance, prayers, and support to our schools all year long as a parish mission.
